CULL COWS & OTM CATTLE (14) Auctioneer: Roger Waters Predictably short - Chris Ware’s Simmental cross cow top call at 82p. Hailsham’s top three Holstein Friesian cows 70p to RJ Turner & Sons, others 66p and 63p and a Friesian heifer to 75p. Overage Continental cross heavyweight steers 83p and lightweight 80p. CALVES (5) Auctioneer: Roger Waters PIGS (7) Auctioneer: Roger Waters Trailer load of sows, seven in fact 155 kg. to 315 kg. £48 to £78. SHEEP (396) -Auctioneer: Nick Young LAMBS (282)Overall average 110.4p per kg. ‘Ladies Day’ at Hailsham Best price this week to Miss C Howe’s Texels followed closely by Mrs Clark and Mrs Owen. There is no doubt that Hailsham is the best trade week in week out and today we proved it again. The only problem is we are still very short in numbers and undoubtedly when the numbers do come forward there will be a slump in the trade. Our advice is get your sheep to Hailsham forthwith. EWES (103) The ewe trade is second to none. R & W Brown’s superb run of Suffolk cross ewes making £43, (thrice), £35.50, £33 (thrice). Other consignments - Whiligh Farms £38.50, JF Collinson & Son’s £35, STORE LAMBS (10) First of the store lambs forward sell at £31. All in all a great days trading, these prices won’t last so
