Buyers in cautious mood, demand easier, all better quality cattle changing hands at 140p per kilo plus to a top of 150.5p for Brian Foster’s young Limousin cross steer. 

St. Georges Retreat’s cattle still in the highlights, their Limousin cross steer and Blonde heifer at 150p.  Returns need to increase, cattle have been yarded for a long, long time.

Just not enough of them - Simmental and Sussex cows take top bids of 114.5p & 114p respectively, all good heavy cows £1 or more, size and weight counts.  Hereford cross cows to graze to 101.5p, lean black & white cows 87p, Simmental bull 94p. Overage beef demand much the same, lean Limousin x Holstein steers to 119.5p, Belgian Blue cross heifers to 114.5p.

Outstanding trade for all beef cross calves on offer.  Friesian Holsteins look better value but all selling very well.  Top call reared Simmental cross heifer, 12 weeks £330 and Blonde cross heifer £315.  Younger calves, 3/5 weeks - Henden Manor’s Belgian Blue cross bull £295 and heifer £260, Simmental cross bull £278 and £271, Clearwater Farms Blonde cross £235
