Very few quality cattle forward and all mostly dairy bred, local breeder feeder Ronnie Kemp takes top three returns - Limousin steer at 156p and heifers at 152p and 150p. Hereford x Holstein steer at 136.5p from Messrs. Griffiths and Mockford and
Cor Vandermeer has well finished Friesian steers at 132.5p. More needed

CULL COWS & OTM CATTLE (26)
Little alteration in demand, good quality Continental cross cows can command prices of 115/120p. Crispian Tebbut sells young Simmental at 120p, older leaner Continental cross to 104p, fat Sussex cows to £1 per kilo. Only a few Holstein/steaking cows to 85p and plainer sorts 68p. Overage beef continue to sell very well - Brian Foster’s Limousin cross 139p, 135.5p and 135p, John Ayres Limousin cross steer to £137. Included in OTM ring next week - Purebred Charolais working stock bull, born 2001.
STORE CATTLE
A small sale to start September but nevertheless a good one - customers all keen to buy whatever the age.

It’s a store lamb paradise at Hailsham. With the finished price where it is, its surely pays hands down to sell as stores. All proper stores are upwards of £50 per head. Mind you it probably pays to buy the small lambs which will then come out next spring in time to catch the very top prices. As previously we recommend you vigorously sell and buy stores as many times as is possible in the course of the year.
