In common with the national trend prices easing this week but a good number
of potential customers around the ringside, plus a good show of cattle too
- a pleasure offering Tony Robinson’s Sussex steer beating allcomers at 170p (£952 at 21 mos), others from the same yard 160p. Sharing the best heifer price of 160p was Graham Beck and Derek Southouse both with homebred young suckler bred Limousin crosses. Cor Vandermeer has Friesians to 136p. Nearly half the entry still 150p plus

No let up in this trade, just want more, David Kemp’s lean purebred Blonde 119p, nearly £850, Frank Grantham’s heavyweight Charolais £880. Best of the Friesian cows - BF Armstong’s black and white 103.5p, Cows to graze keen as mustard, plain Continental crosses 114p, 109p, 108.5p. Beef under 48 months, good enquiry - David Hobbs & Son’s Simmental cross heifer 126p.
CALVES (14) Auctioneer: Roger Waters
Belgian Blues are best - Thakeham Farm’s bull £200 and a Blonde off the same farm £190. Quite a few Hereford crosses amongst the entry, bulls at £132 and heifers to £120. Trade is very good and calves are wanted.
PIGS (21)
Only a few - two pens of Saddleback weaners selling to £17 each, young GOS sows to £79. Entered for next week In Pig Saddleback sow, two cull sows and two cull boars.
