Definitely a day for the Sussex breed, purebreds and crossbreds dominate the entry. Carola Godman Law’s purebred steers to 143p and John Down’s purebred heifers to 140p. Ronnie Kemp’s homebred Limousins still a match for the natives - heifers to 158p and heavyweight steers to 150p. M & J Franklin have Friesian steers selling at 125p.

Another very good selling trade. Stars of the show were Thakeham Farms’ pair of Belgian Blue crosses - heifer £277 and bull £275 at 3/5 weeks old. Other calves 5/7 weeks - Hereford x Friesian bull £197, Limousin x heifer £192, Sussex x bull £190, Blonde x bull £180, Aberdeen Angus x bull £167 and Norwegian Red x bull, 8 weeks £147. who tragically died last week in a car accident
