Average entry - easier on the week, one or two vendors now coming to the yard ends. Graham Beck’s still out with good homebred Limousin cross stock his two year old heifer best of the run at 157p. Good to see local feeder and breeder Julian Mockford’s heavy Simmental cross heifer to 148p. Best of the steers, homebred again, to Jim and Nick Geering’s Limousin cross steer at 150p. Definitely a two tier trade. The best keenly competed for at around the £90 per head mark, surely this must be right. Susan Howe and ‘Maestro’ Andreozzi lead the way. We need many more milk lambs please. Many butchers have now made the switch from Hoggets to lambs and there is likely to be a shortfall.
