Short entry, more definitely needed at Hailsham to satisfy current demand. All good FABBL’d suckler bred cattle 110p/115p, with top going to Jim Bingham’s Charolais heifer at 115.5p. Mr & Mrs Hesselgrave’s homebred Simmental cross heavweight grosses £800+ and 112p per kilo. Dick Bradford on behalf of St. Georges has Charolais x Friesian heifer to 114p. No outstanding sorts on offer but all looking well sold.

CULL COWS & OTM CATTLE (34)
Rock solid demand - keep them coming. Best of the bunch to Pete Perryman’s Limousin cross cow 75p. Other good meat Simmental and Limousin cross cows 69.5p, grossing £520 plus. Hailsham’s top five Friesian Holsteins 66.5p, 61p, 60.5p, 60p & 59p twice. Steaking cows to 55p, plain cows 30/43p, overfat Angus 55.5p. Just a few overage beef - Mike Richard’s good Angus cross steer 85p, Charolais cross heifer 79p, young cows to feed 48p.

Not that many - just a useful trade - medium Angus cross bulls to £55, likewise Angus cross heifers £39. Limousin cross heifer to £76. No Continental cross bulls on offer.

A Lift in the trade, but yet again we must stress they must be meated lambs please in the finished section. Many sheep showing the effects of the weather. Most lambs around £1 per kilo mark and some were better than that. Top honours this week to Millie Nye of Shoreham and Alan Lavender of Newdigate.
