Everybody anxious to buy, long may it continue - a cracking pre-Easter trade, good to be part of it but just not enough on offer. Dick Bradford on behalf of St. Georges Retreat takes top honours again with their young Sussex cross steer at 131p. Charles Diplock has young Charolais cross heifers, three in a row at 130p, 129p & 127p and John & Mary Jones also have a young heifer at 130p. No finished suckler bred steers or heifers less than 119p, all looking very well sold.

CULL COWS & OTM CATTLE (27)
Just as good, if not better , looking for more to sell - flying along. Hailsham top Friesian best meat cull cows 99.5p, 94p, 93p, twice and 91.5p. Steaking cows all 79/85p per kilo. Best of the beef - Charolais to 96.5p and nearly £840. Cull bulls - heavyweight Angus 88p and £1,025 per head. Overage beef - Limousin cross steer 110p, lightweight Charolais cross to graze on 110.5p, fast becoming just like the old times!
CALVES (18 ) Auctioneer: Roger Waters
Not so plentiful, stronger inquiry - best Limousin cross bulls £137, others £97 and £95. A good run of Hereford x Friesian bulls to £97 and heifers to £77, four times. Reared Angus bull £168.
PIGS (11) Auctioneer: Roger Waters
A saddleback sow to £50 and a pen of feeding store pigs £25 - looking for traditional bred pigs then here next week at Hailsham 23 gilts inc. 4 Berkshire, 7 Old spots, 1 Saddleback, 5 Tamworth and 6 Large White and 4 Saddleback and Old Spot sows plus 10 store pigs.
