Encouraging entry - only a few suckler bred sorts - dairy bred beef in the majority and discounted accordingly for confirmation.
Local producers Derek Southouse and Ronnie Kemp lead the way with Limousin cross steers at 165p and Limousin cross heifers 156p respectively.
Heading the dairy bred beef Julian Mockford’s Sussex x Friesian at 150p. Looking shorter for next week - please let us know what you’re bringing.

CULL COWS & OTM CATTLE (24)
Rock solid trade in all departments, best of the beef culls to MJ Booth’s Simmental cross cow at 119p and nearly £900 and JH & JHB Bayne’s Friesian Holstein at 110p, very few under £1 per kilo. Cows to graze still very much the order of the day, lean Longhorn cross to 117.5p.
Overage beef all weights, all prices. R & M Sherwood’s Limousin 135p Two cull bulls - Angus and Simmental - 109p and 100p and gross £1,000+.
CALVES (35) Auctioneer: Roger Waters
Another very good trade, although easier on the oustanding levels of the previous two weeks. Reared calves, 8/10 weeks - Blonde cross bull £277, heifers £180, Hereford cross bull £267, Limousin cross heifer £220, Friesian bull £180. Younger calves - Angus cross bull £165 and heifer £107, Blonde cross bull £160 and heifers £125, Sussex cross bull £137.

Only cull sows and boars to £120 per head and 60p per kilo.

LAMBS (69) A real good show and good quality predictably from the “Maestro” Andreozzi who has the best and gets the best price. We are advised that the West Country lambs are 180p - Hailsham’s averaged 213p. You must let us know what you have - pre-booking is of the essence as the switch is made from hoggets to lambs.
