SHEEP TAGS - EID
Tagging this year’s lamb crop
Keep all your options open
Do not restrict your marketing opportunities
South East Marts recommend producers to use a Single Electronic Tag or Full EID if you intend to retain ewe lambs for future breeding either to be sold or kept as flock replacements. Sheep tagged with a single electronic tag will ensure you get maximum competition for your lambs in the market place.
Non Electronic tags will not give the option of further fattening, further sorting for defined outlets and will restrict your marketing opportunities.
We believe the benefits gained by sheep producers who tag with a single electronic tag, and the sheep industry generally, will far outweigh the small additional cost
- keep all your options open
All Store lambs will need to have a single electronic tag.

Heathfield & District Agricultural Show News

Heathfield Show Livestock Schedules are now available at Hailsham Market. The ever popular Heathfield and District Show, to be held on Saturday, 29th May this year, has just released their Schedule for 2010 show. Following the success of the 2009 show, with over 500 entries in the three Livestock sections, the Show Council has worked hard to maintain the popularity of the classes.
The Successful ‘Any Other Pedigree Beef’ class is to be split into two classes for the 2010 Show - Native and Continental and in the Open Beef class all the cattle will be weighed on the showground.
The Pig section was introduced in 2008 is growing in size every year. This year sees the introduction of a Commercial Pig section with four classes for Cutter Pigs.
The Young Handler classes will again be run in the Sheep, Pig and Cattle sections. “We encourage entries in these classes because the young people are the future of farming in Britain and will ensure the continuation of the farming industry in the south east into the next century”.
Schedules are available at Hailsham Market or can be downloaded from www.heathfieldshow.org
