MILK LAMBS (6)
Only a handful, certainly not enough to portray the level of demand. With Easter where it is it’s early enough.
Championship and top price to Sue and Dick Becvar being purchased by the Judge Lew Howard for £87.
HOGGETS (529) Overall average 167.5p per kilo
Against all expectations and with the rise of sterling against the Euro we had a rock solid trade. Mind you it could have had something to do with the exceptionally good fed hoggets on offer.

EWES (129)

STORE LAMBS (227)
Big lambs a terrific trade. Smaller models look extreme value to farm on if you have the grub to feed them, because they don’t get fat themselves.

SHEEP TAGS - EID
Tagging this year’s lamb crop - Keep all your options open
Do not restrict your marketing opportunities
South East Marts recommend producers to use a Single Electronic Tag or Full EID if you intend to retain ewe lambs for future breeding either to be sold or kept as flock replacements. Sheep tagged with a single electronic tag will ensure you get maximum competition for your lambs in the market place.
Non Electronic tags will not give the option of further fattening, further sorting for defined outlets and will restrict your marketing opportunities.
We believe the benefits gained by sheep producers who tag with a single electronic tag, and the sheep industry generally, will far outweigh the small additional cost
- keep all your options open
All Store lambs will need to have a single electronic tag.
