Sussex are supreme at Hailsham, gold, silver and bronze to team Exwood & Robinson of Coolham with their purebred Sussex steers 184p, 175p and 169p, all very satisfactory with quality to the fore and 150p plus. Mark & John Cornwell’s Limousin x Charolais steer gross £1200 plus and still under twenty four months. Brian Foster leads the heifer prices with homebred Limousin cross at 161p - all in all a very good trade but not enough of them.

Beef cows all an excellent trade whether finished or for further fattening, all very much wanted. Brian Foster’s best, his Simmental x Friesian 122p and John & Mark Cornwell’s Limousin x Charolais not far behind at 122p and grossing £948. Beef cows ranged from 106p to 122p and averaged a very healthy 116.6p. Just a few dairy - plain Friesian Holsteins 85p, Guernseys 88.5p and Jerseys 65p. Beef under 48 months - Sussex cow/heifer 130p, medium weight Hereford cross steer 130p.

A smart run of Charolais cross from Lower Claverham Farm selling very well, bulls £202, £175, etc. heifers, £164, £158, etc. More needed to satisfy buyers requirements.

Trevor Huxtable (79) died suddenly on the morning of
19th March whilst sorting sheep at his home. The funeral will take place at St. James the Less Church at Nutley at 12.30 p.m. on Thursday, 2nd April all are welcome afterwards at Nutley Village hall

We are very sad to report the death of Mrs Sandra Lawson on 9th March, wife of Bill Lawson who was very much part of Stumblehole Farm team at Ifield producing those first quality Angus x Belgian Blue/Friesian suckler calves each year for
John AA Farmer. The funeral has taken place.
