HAILSHAM FARMERS' PRODUCE & CRAFT MARKET
On SATURDAY, 8th MAY
Held On Second Saturday In Every Month
9.00 ~ 12.30 At Hailsham Cattle Market

Volcanic ash from Iceland has recently been in the news, disrupting ‘plane flights both in and out of our airports. This has put an emphasis on how important it is to support agriculture both locally and nationally so that we are not too reliant on imported food such as meat, fruit and vegetables and dairy products. Farming is a diverse industry and farmers need to be paid appropriately for producing high quality produce to the highest of standards, and at the same time offering customers a wide choice of fresh, traceable year round and seasonal food. This is where Farmers’ Markets come into their own as they cut out the middle man, helping producers to retain proportionately more profit, and as the food comes predominantly from the local area this cuts down on their overheads such as fuel and labour costs, as well as helping the local rural economy. Market Cafe will be open from 8.00am selling hot and cold food and drinks.
