Little change in numbers and trade - buyers all very cautious - the better the cattle the better the competition. Jim and Nick Geering’s yarded homebred Continental cross steers to 153.5p and 149p. Ronnie Kemp’s homebred heavyweights to 150p.Best of the heifers St. Georges Retreat’s lightweight Blonde cross 145.5p. Keep in touch both for numbers and trade.
COWS & OVERAGE BEEF (25) Auctioneer: Roger Waters
Little alteration, no first quality Continental cross cows on offer, lean shapely Limousin and Limousin cross to £1 per kilo. Well fleshed Friesian Holstein with weight 87p. Plain steaking cows with weight 74p/84p, Lightweight plain cows to 57p.
Overage beef either plenty fat enough or lean. Overfat Sussex cross 95p. Lightweight lean Simmental cross 95p.

Five on offer. Aberdeen Angus cross bulls to £160 and heifers £100.
Blonde cross bulls look better value at £140 and £120.

A cracking entry and it was proven yet again that finished lambs sell better at Hailsham than anywhere else provided they’ve had the grub. Presentation is everything, please do not try to sell ‘storefied’ lambs in the finished section.
