CATTLE (32) Auctioneer: Roger Waters

Cracking trade, all specifications very much wanted . Rupert Taylor’s trio of Charolais heifers 134p,127.5p and 123p. Best of the steers to Flower& Lawrence’s Simmental cross 117p followed by Roger Millman’s Limousin cross at 116p. All suckler bred steers 110/117p. The Sussex breed hold their own - Mrs Carola Godman-Law’s steers to 114p. Friesians without a FABBL ticket to 100p and Holstein heifers to 97p. More cattle needed next Wednesday to satisfy this current demand.

CULL COWS & OTM CATTLE (32)
More interest, more buyers, more trade and we need more cows . Good to see the trade again moving in the right direction that’s upwards. Rupert Taylor’s Charolais cow 86p per kilo and gross £812+. Good meat Friesian Holsteins to 76p and £584 per head with Hailsham’s top five Holsteins 76p, 75.5p, 75p, 70p. Lean Continental cross steaking cows to 72p. Plain cows to feed on 46p to 66p, depending on weight and confirmation. Nothing wrong with this trade - try the live market.

All calves an excellent trade - competition very keen. Reared Belgian Blue cross bull £170 and heifers £125, Young Angus cross bull £100, Medium Limousin cross bull £90, Small Sussex cross heifers to £70 and Angus cross heifer £62.

PIGS (30) Auctioneer: Roger Waters
Coloured pork/cutter weights at 57p and £46 per head. Small white crossbred weaners, 8 weeks £20.50 each and coloured store pigs £23.50 each. In pig sows look excellent value at £55. Selling pigs or buying pigs, please keep in touch.

HOGGETS (462)Overall average 105.9p per kg.
Much more bite to the trade with quality meated lambs fetching a significant premium above the undermeated sorts. Sporting farmers Alistair Ainslie and David Gorringe do the best business. There is no doubt we are ‘simply the best’ - ‘better than all the rest’. If you are not at Hailsham you are not getting the best price and thats a fact !!

Nowhere is better to sell them and nowhere is better to buy them. Going great guns and particularly so with the increase in the finished price and a good price prospect for the coming months.
